MBIE's changes to clause H1
10 Points. 45min-1hr
In November 2021, MBIE implemented the start of their Building for Climate Change programme. This involves changes to all building codes to improve the performance and energy efficiencies of our buildings and reduce our building industry's carbon footprint. The starting point is to focus on improving the level of insulation in our floors, walls, ceilings and windows.

Designing quality learning spaces
10 points. 45min – 1hr
In a room without adequate acoustic performance, students can miss 1 in 4 words. This can severely implicate their learning, especially younger learners. MOE have set educational buildings a requirement to acoustically isolate and control the space to enable all tamariki have access to learning opportunities. This CPD presentation breaks down requirement to stop noise transfer (STC and NRC) into and between rooms as well as controlling reverberation within (NRC).

Introduction to acoustics
10 points. 45min – 1hr
With a movement towards human-centric office spaces, a need for acoustic control is important to allow occupants a usable space. Acoustically isolating a space provides privacy and protection from noise leakage. Controlling reverberation gives the occupants a space in which productivity and creativity can flourish. This CPD talks about the nature of noise and how to design to provide the clients with a high performing environment.
